Description

PARENT PLANT DESCRIPTION

Khus or vetiver is a perennial fragrant bunchgrass under monocots, Poaceae. Though it is native to India, this grass is also widely cultivated in tropical regions of the world, mainly because of its high demand in the perfumery industry. Besides its woody, earthly scent and taste, the brownish-purple flowers have also been used in ancient India in garlands for worshipping. The Khus grass prevents soil erosion due to its gregarious tuft growth habitat. It also helps stabilize hedges since it can tolerate extreme stress. It is used to make fragrant mats.

Chrysopogon zizanioides generally grow up to a height of 150cm, but under favorable conditions, they can grow up to 3m because of the elongation of long slender stems. The leaves are rigid, sand tiff, and the root system is horizontal.

KHUS (VETIVER) HYDROSOL DESCRIPTION

The khus hydrosol manufacturers derive the hydrosol by distillation. Khus or vetiver water, also known as "water of tranquillity" in many regions of India, is an extract of the tuft roots of Chrysopogon zizanioides grass. It is a brown or green liquid with an earthy and sweet aroma.

This hydrosol has standalone unique beneficial properties. Thus, it is generally not blended with other floral water but it can be mixed with sandalwood oil to get an excellent aromatic spray. The khus (vetiver) hydrosol suppliers also provide other oils for integration.

KHUS (VETIVER) HYDROSOL APPLICATIONS

Storage

Being aqueous base solution ( water-based solution ) makes them more susceptible to contamination and bacteria, which is why the jasmine sambac hydrosol wholesale suppliers highly recommend storing the hydrosol in cool, dark places, away from sunlight.
