Parent Plant Overview


The Pimenta dioica plant is commonly known as pimento, jamaica pepper, or myrtle pepper plant. This flowering plant is from the myrtle family and is native to the West Indies and South America Greater Antilles, Central America, and Southern Mexico where the berries are widely used as a culinary spice and it is cultivated in many warm parts of the world. 


The plant grows up to 30 feet with white flowers and globular fruits with seeds. The spice has a strong, pungent flavor and combined aroma notes of several spices, namely cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg, and black pepper. It is commonly known as 'Allspice' due to its aroma resembling many spices.

Firstly, green and unripe allspice fruits are harvested and sun-dried. Then the berries are collected. Ways to Use Allspice Essential Oil


Prepare a diffusion blend with 3 drops of allspice oil, 2 drops of lemon myrtle oil, and 10 ml water. Put the blend in a diffuser and turn it on before sleeping for better inhalation.


Dilute 5 drops of allspice oil and 2 drops of clove oil in 10 ml sesame oil and massage it on aching muscles and body parts.


Put 4-5 drops of the oil to shower gels, hand washes, or shampoo for its softening effect. 


Make a body mist with 5 drops of allspice oil, 2 drops of lime oil, and 3 drops of patchouli oil, and apply it to the sweat-prone parts.
